DSO deCanted: A Wine Tasting and Auction
The Volunteer Council of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra presents the 2nd annual wine tasting and auction, DSO deCanted at the historic Detroit Athletic Club on July 30 at 6 PM.
The event features wine from the Pacific Northwest which will be paired with Hors d’oeuvres. Attendees will be able to browse and bid on an array of wines and wine related items. Proceeds from the event will go to support the DSO Youth programs. Tickets are $95-$175 and can be ordered online or by calling (313) 576-5154.

Concert of Colors
July 26 - August 3
The Meadow Brook Music Festival's Baldwin Pavilion will host the DSO for five performances over two consecutive weekends in July and August. Leonard Slatkin doesn't take the artistic helm of the DSO until the fall, but he'll give DSO audiences a sneak preview on Friday and Saturday, August 1 and 2 with his only Michigan conducting appearances this summer. The Power of Dreams Music Education Fund
In January 2008, the DSO and Honda announced a partnership to take music education in Detroit to the next level. Honda has provided the DSO with a gift of over $1 million to create The Power of Dreams Music Education Fund that will help support and expand the DSO’s nationally acclaimed music programs for young people, and particularly an effort to encourage and support involvement of children in Detroit.
