Internships with the DSO
The Detroit Symphony Orchestra provides a limited number of internships throughout the year and accepts applications for internships year-round. There is no application deadline.
Please note: all internships with the DSO are unpaid.
The DSO may offer internships in the following areas:
Facility Management
Development/Fundraising
Public Relations
Marketing
Systems Administration
Orchestra Management
Artistic Operations
Human Resources
Finance/Accounting
Library
Archives

To apply for an internship, please send your resume, and a cover letter. The cover letter should include the following information:
1. Why are you interested in an internship with the DSO?
2. With what department/area do you wish to work most closely during your proposed internship?
3. What do you hope/expect to gain or develop from the internship?
4. When do you propose the internship would begin and end? How long would it last?
5. How many hours per week would you be able to make yourself available during the internship period? What are the days of the week and times of the day that you would be willing and able to work? Keep in mind that a DSO internship is unpaid.
The DSO accepts internship applications on an ongoing basis, but cannot accommodate all requests.
