Tuition and Financial Aid

 Civic Tuition

TUITION
There is an annual tuition fee of $400 associated with being a member of the Civic Youth Ensembles. Tuition fees cover maintenance of facilities, purchasing music, professional coaching and other Civic Youth Ensembles-related costs. If students are invovled in more than one ensemble, the second ensemble fee is $200. Mentors do not pay tuition and are awarded a monthly stipend.

For more information about CYE Tuition, please read the Tuition FAQs Page and Financial Aid Eligibility Form.

APPLICATION FEE
There is a non-refundable application fee of $10 for all students interested in auditioning to be a member of the Civic Youth Ensembles. This fee helps defray the cost of audition-related expenses such as music preparation and administrative support. If you are unable to pay this fee and would like to request a fee waiver, please attach a statement of need to your application when submitted. Please make checks payable to "Detroit Symphony Orchestra."

FINANCIAL AID
Financial Aid is available to any student who applies and can demonstrate a financial need. To apply for financial aid, please fill out the Financial Aid Data Form and send to the Manager of Civic Youth Ensembles.
