Concerts for Students & Teachers
Recent News
- The attendance policy for all concerts has been changed from the original procedure listed in your “Payment and Confirmation” form. Teachers will not be receiving a receipt to present to the usher staff on the day of the concert. Usher will be provided lists of schools that are attending the day of the concert. A teacher or adult chaperone will need to tell an usher the name of your school and the total number of students, chaperones and teachers in attendance. Ushers will then mark your school in attendance and seat your group. This change has been reflected in the updated FAQ.

About the 2011-2012 Educational Concert Series
For more than 80 years, the Education Concert Series (ECS) has introduced classical music to metro-Detroit school children by featuring interactive programs with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, for children in grades 3–8. Performances last approximately 45-50 minutes and take place in Orchestra Hall.
The theme for this year’s concert is “Instruments of the Orchestra”. Program repertoire and order is still being finalized, so check back here often for this information.
Please keep in mind that seating preference is given to schools on a first-come, first-serve basis, so send us your registration forms as you as you can!
For those schools that have already registered, we will send you your seating information and payment form no later than November 15th. Please be aware that all payments are due no later than one month before your scheduled attendance date.
For more information about the program or if you would like to be added to our email/mailing list for the next season, please contact ecs@dso.org.
